WEEKLY ROUNDUP: February 9, 2025

Happy Sunday and happy Game Day to everyone enjoying the Superbowl today! Let me know what commercials I should be youtubing after the game.

Let's do a little weekly roundup for what has been a pretty slow week with a strong end.

In Content:

I put out a new YouTube video this week! It's my Top 20 Most Anticipated Books of 2025. I'm trying to hold to bi-weekly Friday uploads (though there may be an off schedule upload this week, we'll see).

On TikTok I only posted two videos and both were "I'm sad so let's go to the bookstore I guess" videos. Monday and Tuesday, but at least I had the new Ali Hazelwood to look forward to.

Instagram got my first actual review post for a WHILE over there when I finished the aforementioned Ali Hazelwood book, Deep End.

And just for you guys here, I shared a little sale pitch video I did for To Bargain With Mortals!

In Reading:

I actually managed to get back into reading here at the end of the week!!! It's a miracle!!!!!!

For Book Club I managed to read The Blood Trials by N.E. Davenport (adult sci-fi) in just two days. You can catch our review stream with my thoughts and everyone in Book Club's thoughts here. It was...fine.

On Saturday, I read Deep End by Ali Hazelwood (adult sports romance) in one sitting <3 You can find my review on Goodreads here or in the Instagram post linked above. I really enjoyed it!

And on sunday, I finally finished Dragonfall by L.R. Lam (adult fantasy) which I'd been plugging away at since the start of this month and which I described in my IG stories as a recommendation with the following list (punctuation and all):

  • A non-binary thief!

  • The last male dragon, fallen into another world!

  • Deeply reluctant allies!

  • Seriously! No one is happy about it!

  • Stealing shit!

  • Societal Wealth Disparity!

  • Religion positioned and used for power!

  • Delightfully queer!

  • Gender norms!? What are those!?

  • Hidden identities!

  • Oh no, they're hot!

And if that doesn't sell you on this one I don't know what will. A review will be forthcoming on my Goodreads though if you're looking for something a little more articulate.

After reading all of one single book and one novella in all of January, this is a big win for me.

And that's pretty much it for this past week! Doing my best to get these little roundups posted on Sundays and while it may be after midnight by now, I haven't gone to sleep yet so in my mind it's still Sunday. Nailed it.
